Georgia Tech Introduces New Enterprise Project Management Tool

Georgia Tech’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) recently launched a new project management platform that will enhance how projects are introduced, approved, tracked, and managed across the Institute. IT Business Management, or ITBM, is a robust portfolio and project management solution that is powered by ServiceNow technology, also leveraged for managing service and support requests at services.gatech.edu.

Georgia Tech Announces New Vice President for Information Technology

After a national search, the Georgia Institute of Technology has selected Daren Hubbard as its new chief information officer and vice president for Information Technology. Hubbard joins Georgia Tech from Wayne State University, where he serves as chief information officer and associate vice president for Computing and Information Technology.

Hubbard will start his new role on September 8 and will report directly to the executive vice president for Administration and Finance.

Banner and Techworks Downtime During Scheduled Maintenance Aug. 28

The Office of Information Technology will perform a data center firewall upgrade and network migration to address security and performance issues this Friday, August 28, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.

During the maintenance window, access to Banner, PeopleSoft Financials, and TechWorks will be impacted. Users should not experience impact to cloud services such as Office 365 or Canvas during this maintenance period.

Georgia Tech’s Partnership for Advanced Computing (PACE) hosted Introduction to Machine Learning and Deep Learning hands-on workshops throughout the summer.

Greetings Georgia Tech Community,

It is hard to believe I have already completed my first month at Georgia Tech. I am excited to take the reins as your new vice president of Information Technology and chief information officer (CIO) and I am grateful for the Institute’s warm welcome and confidence in me. I have always admired Georgia Tech and its efforts to tackle the many challenges we face globally through advanced technology. I am extremely fortunate to now be a part of a talented team of individuals who contribute to that mission.
