After a national search, the Georgia Institute of Technology has selected Daren Hubbard as its new chief information officer and vice president for Information Technology. Hubbard joins Georgia Tech from Wayne State University, where he serves as chief information officer and associate vice president for Computing and Information Technology.

Hubbard will start his new role on September 8 and will report directly to the executive vice president for Administration and Finance.

Georgia Tech students, faculty, and staff can now develop hosted online blogs, portfolios, and project sites through Sites@GeorgiaTech, a new online web presence service delivered by the WordPress hosting platform, CampusPress.

Georgia Tech’s new advising solution, Advisor Link, went live Monday, Sept. 14. The new solution is powered by Salesforce and replaced the undergraduate advising system, GradesFirst.

Georgia Tech Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Jimmy Lummis left the Office of Information Technology at the end of January to pursue another professional opportunity and commit more time to personal endeavors. He will continue to serve as a part-time faculty member at the Institute.
